Short description: The aim of the course is providing information about cellular and tissue structure of domestic animals organs and provide the basic information about it histophysiology. Student acquires experience in microscope using and basic aspects of histological techniques.
Full description: The aim of the course is to provide students with current knowledge of the general and detailed histology (organ) with regard to the medical aspects including the role of mechanism regulating function of tissues.

Learning outcomes: Knowledge: W1: Knows the classification, characteristics, origin and the histological organization of the animal tissues [BC1_W06; BC1_W07]. W2: Knows the histology of human organs and basic mechanism regulating their function [BC1_W07]. Skills: U1: Uses a light microscope and an inverted light microscope [BC1_U12]. U2: Is able to identify the type of animal tissue basing on their characteristic features of organization [BC1_U01; BC1_U1]. U3: Is able to present and discuss the histology of selected tissues in the form of a multimedia presentation [BC1_U04; BC1_U14; BC1_U18]. Social competences: K1: Applies the principles of safe work [BC1_K09]. K2: Is able to cooperate and work in a group during the preparation and presentation of short speech with multimedia [BC1_K02].
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: This test will check the knowledge acquired during the course: Cell Biology and Histology of animals I and II. The exam will consist of 8 open questions (problem) and 16 closed questions. Questions will be divided into two panels (each with 4 open questions and 8 closed questions ). The first panel of questions will test students' knowledge in the field of cell biology - the second will check knowledge of the histology of animals. To pass the exam the student must obtain a minimum of 60% (from both parts of the test). The final evaluation will be an averaged of total points achived during the test.
